How to make humidity lower and create a cool side?

I'm concerned, because right now it is summer time where I live and usually 90+ degrees in every room of the house. :
Both sides of the tank in my BP's 20 gallon long are about 81-90 degrees all the time (except at night, they drop a little) and the humidity is 71%!!!
I can't figure out how, in the middle of all this crummy heat, to drop the temps in the snake tank while still providing a warm side, and how to reduce that humidity.

    Any thoughts appreciated lots!
    Thanks so much.

You can purchase a portable room air conditioning unit. Some of the ones that go on the window are cheap. Around $100.

If you only have 1 bp then you might just have a marble slab under the cool end. Run cold water on the marble slab or put it in the fridge for a few minutes. The marble stays cool a long time, but you will have to cool the slab a few times during the day. It's not really going to give you stable temps. The portable air conditioning unit would be a better option.

    Hope this helps.

Honestly, I would just unplug whatever heating you have until the temperature goes down. 70% humidity is not necessarily a bad thing.

Obviously air conditioning would be a good idea to provide a proper temp gradient, but a short period of time without one won't hurt the snake.

I don't know that I could get an AC--i'm in an unpstairs bedroom, my window has no screen, and there's no ledge outside to stick a unit on. To use the one that sits in the window you need a screen, I think, which I don't have.
I would love an AC also. It's hot in my room! Agggh!
    Thanks much for the help!

We have 3 window units in our rental, and don't need the screens. You normally have to remove the screen to put the unit in.

where I live you can get a 5000 btu ac at wall mart for 98 dollars when in stock. be careful with the ac, it will lower the humidity in the room a lot.

Window units are generally designed to sit on a window... no need for ledge, no need for screen. The unit comes with mounting brackets. Once the AC is installed on the window, the unit forms a tight seal (has to be to keep cool air in, warm air out), therefore, no screen is needed to keep bugs out.

You can also provide a large water bowl, and your BP will soak in it if he feels it's to hot. That's what mine does.
