Question about pastels and bumblebees!
Hey guys, this is my first post so please be nice =))
Anyways, this year's project is to make a bumbleebee ball python.
Cureently, I have a beautiful spider ball python and am planning to purchase a pastel to make the bumblebee.
so, the question,
I know that there are many types of pastels that can create a bumblebee. For example, we have the lemon pastel, the jungle pastel, the blonde pastel etc.
So, if I breed my spider to a lemon pastel and produce a bumblebee, for example, would it be different when compared to let's say, if i produce a bumbleebee from a spider matched to a jungle pastel?
Based on the information that I have collected previously from my research, some people say that the lemon pastel produces more yellow bumblebees whereas the jungle pastel creates more blushing on the bumblebees.
If you guys have bumblebees, it would be helpful if you guys can post pictures from mating the spider with the diff pastels so we could compare and contrast the differences ( if any).
Thank you!

Re: Question about pastels and bumblebees!
I dont know about the more blushing but yes the lemon pastel will creat a more vibrant yellow in the bee imo. If you can afford it Try to get a super pastel. Then you will get (In theory) 50% pastel 50%bees because since its a super pastel all the offspring will will be a pastel. Then you can breed the bee back to the super pastel and go for killer bees

Re: Question about pastels and bumblebees!
Answer is simple, forget the name put into front of the pastel, look at the fricking snake. is the snake high yellow? then its babies will most likely be yellow. does the snake have alot of blushing? then its babies will most likly have alot of blushing. buy a dulled out lemon pastel, the babies will be dulled out, doesn't matter if its a lemon or not.

Yep, if you like the pastel then buy it. You want a pastel that you like the look of because then you will like the offspring!
