Re: What are the signs you look for if your BP is ready to eat

My Ball Python will literally follow my movements when's he's ready to eat. And most of the time, when he's hungry, he will be on the raised platform i have for him in his enclosure, and as soon as i approach it with the prey item, he raises his head, and just waits for me to open the top of his cage, and as soon as i do, he literally grabs it right off the hemostats.

I feed my BP in a seperate tub. She knows when she's put in that container it means dinner time. She will follow my every move...even poking her head out, watching me finish the preparation. It doesnt take 2 seconds for her to strike once I offer the meal to her.

Uhh...When I walk by and I hear * THUNK * THUNK * THUNK * and see a couple females taking shots at me through their tub....Thats when I know they want some foooood. I usually open tubs from around the side of the rack at that point, too many close calls with my nose.

My BP (Bunny) gets out and starts wondering around his enclosure when he is hungry, which is usually at about day 5 or 6 after he eats, though he gets fed on day 7 no matter what. I feed him in a seperate container, when he is in there he knows what is going on, and strikes as soon as he sees food.

I know my snake is ready to eat when it gets dark outside because he starts wandering around his enclosure. His tongue is flicking and he is very alert to what is going on around him.
