    Putting Bp's in Basement

Having a heat wave here and my garage getting to hot and thinking about moving the Bp's to the basement.

Main problem is there is some moisture in the basement causing a little bit of mold to form on wooden items in the basement, not alot but a little and i am able to simply wipe it off and clean it, but worried will it hurt my snakes? i keep their cages cleaned weekly so more worried about what they are breathing. Any help would be appreciated as it stays cool down there and my venting system from my house has 2- 6" pipes feeding heating down there for the winter and want to just make it permanent for them down there

In Big Gunns opinion Balls and other humidity loving snakes(boas especially) do better in the basement. You do need to watch out for mold, but the constant humid air is an added bonus for your snakes(obviously not too much). Humidity can be the hardest thing to control sometimes. The basement is a much better place than most garages in BG's expert opinion if you do it right.

Your gonna have to pretty much clean and disenfect everything down there. Also will need to purify the air. As mold grows the air becomes musty and should not be breathed in for lengthy periods of time.

watch out for mold as in make sure i keep it out their cages/making sure cages are always kept clean? wont really hurt them breathing? and yes i thought the humidity would help them alot better as well, thank you for your response

was thinking using a dehumidifier to bring the humidity down enough to keep mold/musty down but not to much because of the snakes

The ability to keep a more constant temp is another bonus of keeping them in the basement.
