Question My baby beardie wont eat/move...help???

I just got two baby bearded dragons. They can't be but a week or so old, very tiny. One is doing well, alert, running around and chases the crickets. The other just lies around and ate yesterday morning but hasn't eaten anything today. I've misted them twice but this one just does not want to move and just sleeps. It is a tad bit smaller than the other one...by mabye an inch...maybe a day or two younger? Not skinny or anything...just wont eat today. Is this normal for a baby? Here is a few pictures of them.

What are you useing for a heat source? Also do you have UVA/UVB bulb? if not that could be the problem.. Our beardie acted that way when we first got him, but after we got the right bulbs (thanks to people on here who know thier stuff) he was fine...

Dragons MUST have a heat source and UVA/UVB. We use an MVB (mercury vapor bulb) they give off heat and both uva/uvb.. good luck and keep us posted...

    Cheers

when I bred them and had hatchlings you will always have dominate and passive ones. I would seperate them. More the likely the smaller one is stressed esp if its sleeping more. Dragons usually do this esp. when stressed. I think if you seperate them and make it so the smaller one can't see the larger one you'll be fine. Babies can go down quick so I would seperate them ASAP

I agree with paradox....seperate them. The bigger one is dominating therefore he gets the best warm spots...the best sun spots and the food. This happens often and hence why they say to always house seperately.

Beardies are not like snakes, they digest very fast so their yolk is used up soon after they are born.

Sorry for the no update. She passed away.

We seperated her, got her temps up around 100 on the hot side, then got a repti-sun 10.0 UVB bulb for her, soaked her to make sure she could poop (she did) but she just refused to eat...

We got another in her name, and her sibling is also doing well. They are separated and are PIGS...thank goodness.

I have started doing a ton of research to make sure future incidences do not happen. I did some before getting any of my reptiles but lately I have been thriving to learn more on all aspects of them. (Genetics, husbandry, food, ect.) I feel a lot smarter about what I am doing now then before and I am thankful for everyone in the forums helping me learn.

Now we have two very healthy, eating baby beardies...(growing wayyy to fast, haha), one ball python, super happy and healthey. Another bp on the way tomorrow (cinny). 4 corn snakes all healthy and well. Then a leopard gecko I have even started a club for my local city. www.christinascritterclub.weebly.com This is to help other reptile owners continue to learn about reptiles and also to help new/future reptile owners to learn how to do it right the first time. Wish me luck on this...the first meeting is Sept. 11th.
