Re: I got ripped off :(

There are a few pics in my gallory or him and he only has one eye but i did know that. He told me it was just an injury from a feeding but now i think there was a much worse trama that went on with him. He was not a breeder i had a pinstripe that was not very nice so i traded him for a black pastel. Im not looking into breeding so the one eye thing was not a big deal i just wanted a cool looking snake that my kids could hold. His name is Matt he lives in ut im not sure if he is on here or not.

I just looked at your gallery. It honestly looks to me like some one stepped on that snakes neck. Obviously I'm just guessing but...

Are those snake housed together or were they just together for the picture?

How large is the snake? It does not look like his injuries should keep him from eating. When I first read your post I was assuming the "injuries" were actually birth defects, but that eye does not look like something it was born with to me. Good luck.

I do have to ask why you would trade a healthy pinstripe for a one eyed snake? I know you said you are not interested in breeding, but it just sounds like a bad trade to me.

In all honesty, I don't see anything too wrong with that snake that it shouldn't eat. Most kinks are birth defects (as I would say the eye is) and that snake looks to be a pretty good size, so you know he was eating at some point.

Snakes are pretty tough, and this one's had it rough but I think he'll be all right. Check your husbandry first. Temps are right? Are you housing it with another snake? That might explain the killing and leaving the food... if he's being housed with another snake right now and wasn't before, he may be feeling the stress.

I have had three snakes with kinks, one of them quite severe, and all of them ate---and have continued eating---regularly.

If I remember correctly the pinstripe was a tad nippy when handled and, since they have no plans to breed, they preferred to have a snake that could be handled more easily with the children.

Although with my memory that could have been someone else.
