    Re: Cinnamon X Fire

    Also if you know any websites that can help me out with punette squares...
    I know simple recessives,codoms,and dominates, but trying to draw out bumblebee X pastel, super cinnamon X pastel, or anything like that confuses me. I know im stupid but Im new to the whole ball python scene

    Re: Cinnamon X Fire

    I actually dont know of any, however here is one of the posts I made explaining it:

    http://www.ball-pythons.net/forums/s...58#post1385158

    Now, as for your particular questions, I'll break them down for you:

    Bumblebee x Pastel
    From the Bumblebee 50% get 1 Pastel gene
    From the Pastel 50% get 1 Pastel gene
    So, typical het x het square
    50% Pastel
    25% Normal
    25% Super Pastel

    From the Bumblebee 50% get 1 Spider gene
    From the Pastel 0% get 1 Spider gene
    Typical Het x hom square
    50% Spider
    50% Normal

    Now combine the two traits End Results
    .5x.5=.25
    25% Pastel Spider (Bumblebee)
    25% Pastel

    .25x.5=.125
    12.5% Spider
    12.5% Normal
    12.5% Super Pastel Spider (Killerbee)
    12.5% Super Pastel

    Super Cinnamon x Pastel

    I could easily skip this since it would be a Hom x Het square where every trait gets Cinnamon and 50% get Pastel, but I'll do the whole thing for example.
    From the Super Cinnamon 100% get 1 Cinnamon gene
    From the Pastel 0% get 1 Cinnamon gene
    100% Cinnamon
    From the Super Cinnamon 0% get 1 Pastel gene
    From the Pastel 50% get 1 Pastel gene
    50% Pastel
    50% Normal

    Combine these to get End Results
    1.0x.5=.5
    50% Cinnamon Pastel (Pewter)
    50% Cinnamon

    Now, you think that's bad, I could put my dream set up, but I'd get a headache (Ultramel x Panda Pied > Triple hets, breed to panda pied (if that's the female), take the panda pied male offspring and breed each one back to one of the first generation female triple hets.... yeah... headache to write out)

    But here is one I just did the results on earlier, I used the same method but didnt bother writing it out, if you take the 3 i posted for you, use the same concept, you can probably come up with each of the sets yourself, if you can then you probably figured it out, and for that you deserve a high five.

    I thought super cinnamon X pastel produces a silver bullet? Where does that come in to play?

    Pewter x Cinnamon
    Pewter x Pewter
    etc

    It's a Super Cinnamon Patel, so it would require both snakes to have the Cinnamon trait and at least one to have the Pastel.

    Are your odds of getting one higher if you breed 2 pewters?

    50% Normal

    From the Pewter 50% get 1 Cinnamon gene
    From the Cinnamon 50% get 1 Cinnamon gene
    25% Super Cinnamon
    50% Cinnamon
    25% Normal

    Combine for the End results
    .5x.25=.125
    12.5% Pastel Super Cinnamon (Silver Bullet)
    .5x.5=.25
    25% Pastel Cinnamon (Pewter)
    12.5% Pastel
    12.5% Super Cinnamon
    25% Cinnamon
    12.5% Normal

    Pewter x Pewter
    From the Pewter 50% get 1 Pastel gene
    From the Pewter 50% get 1 Pastel gene
    25% Super Pastel
    50% Pastel
    25% Normal

    From the Pewter 50% get 1 Cinnamon gene
    From the Pewter 50% get 1 Cinnamon gene
    25% Super Cinnamon
    50% Cinnamon
    25% Normal

    Combine for your End Results
    .25x.25=.0625
    6.25% Super Pastel Super Cinnamon (Super Pewter)
    .25x.5=.125
    12.5% Super Pastel Cinnamon
    6.25% Super Pastel
    12.5% Super Cinnamon Pastel (Silver Bullet)
    25% Pastel Cinnamon (Pewter)
    12.5% Pastel
    6.25% Super Cinnamon
    12.5% Cinnamon
    6.25% Normal

    Hey, same likelihood, look at that. Well, cool.

    BTW, here is a "genetics wizard" but it seems to only do single trait x single trait.

    Re: Cinnamon X Fire

    Here's a bad picture of two male cinnamon fires I hatched earlier this year. I bred a fire male to a cinnamon female. They are really getting nice looking as they shed and grow. I'm really surprised as I didn't think I'd like them as much as I do. I'll take updated pictures when I get a chance.

    The fire cinnamons are on the left the snake on the right is a cinnamon female.

    Cinny-Fires (or whatever they are called), are much more rare than pewters are. And although they are both dbl co-dom's, it's a no-brainer that the Cinny-Fires would command a higher price.

    I was judging on appearances. The firemon isnt as unique as the pewter.
