    New GTP

Finally bought myself a green tree python. I've wanted one for quite a while. They're so interesting!

I feel like I can provide for it. I've done well with my ball pythons and my blood python. Plus I've got a chameleon and he's the most high maintenance pet out there.

So here he/she is. The mother is biak-type and the father is from signal herp.
Pictures (c) clockwork reptiles. I'll post my own pics when he/she arrives.

    Re: New GTP

I love love love GTP's. I'm new to owning snakes, just got my first ball python about 3 months ago. But if I ever get another snake I'd love for it to be a GTP! So beautiful!

Are they harder to care for than BP's?

Thanks! It's my first, but I've done a lot of reading and (I think) as long as you are spot on with the husbandry they'll do well. They're just a lot less forgiving when it comes to mistakes. And they need to be misted.

Rico is hands down one of the best guys in the game. Please, if you have questions or concerns post them up in a new topic so those experienced with chondros can provide a hand. They are much different from BPs but an amazing experience all the same. Two years ago when I started keeping chrondos it was a really rare thing for people to want them. The price has dropped and information is available so that people know what they are getting in to. I for one think it's right where it should be. Too expensive for chain pet stores and affordable to anyone who can properly provide for it.
