    New Baby Dumeril

Hey all. I picked up a new Baby Dumeril about 2 weeks ago. I have him in a 15 qt sterilite tub with a UTH.

I pretty much have my husbandry setup exactly like my ball bython. 93-95 on hot side, 78-82 ambient, 60 -85 percent humidity.

    Is this ok?

Also the baby has taken to soaking in the water dish with only his nose exposed a couple times a day that I have noticed. I do not see any mites but I am inexperienced and may not know what to look for. My BP never soaks so I am not sure this isnt entirely normal for a Dumeril Boa.

    Do Boas like to soak?

I know with Balls you dont want them soaking as they can get scale rot from excess moisture. Should I worry about the Dumeril soaking soo much?

Grats! My female likes to soak too and so far it just seems that she just likes to do it. My male does it every now and then but not as long as the female.

It is a good idea to use something like aspen or cypress bedding with Dumerils, especially younger ones. Alot of times they will burrow into it. I normally put it about an inch or so thick in the warm side hide and a little thicker in the cool side hide...
