    Arrow Racks?

I'm in the market for a rack for my ball pythons. I want to buy one that has heating included, does anyone have any suggestions on places to buy? I've already looked into animal plastics, and reptile basics. If anyone could give any suggestions on where to buy that would be awsome!
    Thanks,

    -Payson!

Why not build one yourself? There easy enough.

I'm scared I wont be able to heat it. I dont know how to hook up heat tape to a thermostat, and all that stuff.

    Ohhhh!

Well, its very easy and I can help you out if you need. The only thing you really need to "learn" is wiring heat tape, which is cake. There are videos as well on youtube.

and heres a rack I made over the weekend

If you have the tools, making one is the way to go. Save you a couple hundred dollars or more. And then you can spend that money on some more snakes to fill your new rack!

So to all you need is an exacto knife, and a sottoring gun to wire heat tape to the plug?

I currently own 9 Reptile Basics racks and couldn't be happier. I would highly recommend them and will be purchasing more in the future.

    RBI pros:
    -Durable investment quality racks
    -Comes already assembled
    -Good prices
    -Very quick turnaround time
-Rich's customer service is 2nd to none.

You don't even have to do that, if you purchase the strips pre-wired from RBI - they do it for free if you buy the $5 wire/clip kit. http://www.reptilebasics.com/flexwatt-heat-tape/

Whether you build or buy a rack, you'll still have to connect the heat tape to a thermostat yourself... so if that's all you're worried about, it won't make a difference either way! It's easy anyway, since all you have to do is tape the probe to a heat strip, plug the flexwatt into the thermostat, and set the temps.

Personally I like pre-built racks, since I'm not the handiest person, and my friend who said he'd build one still hasn't - months later. Sick of flaky people, and at least I know a professional one is well made. I have two Boaphile racks I bought used, one with back-heat for 30qt tubs & the "Ballroom" style with belly-heat for 41qt tubs. They're both really nice racks, but kinda pricey if you buy them new (plus shipping).

If I were to buy one brand new, I'd probably go with the AP Economy rack: http://www.animalplastics.com/
And here is my Boaphile Ballroom: http://www.boaphileplastics.com/rhin...ball_room.html

    Re: Racks?

Just noticed the Boaphiles come with free shipping, so I guess it's not a bad deal...

    Re: Racks?

Sorry for the triple-response, but my brain is fried right now (just flew cross-country)... realized my rack with back heat isn't a Boaphile, and in fact I don't know who made it. Skiploder sold it to me, so maybe he can tell us? I really like that one, but it's better for my colubrids because of the back heat.
