Are you sure this is "temporary"? If he's moving to a place where he is not permitted to have her, how long is he planning on staying there?

Your best bet is to read the caresheet. That'll give you some idea of how things should be to hopefully avoid any issues. If your friend has taken proper care of her and she has everything she needs, as long as you feed her, keep the tank clean, use proper substrate, keep the proper temperature/humidity levels and make sure her water is clean and fresh, you should be okay.

Edit: And it's smart of you to come on here and ask that question. I respect you for that.

    Re: New BP owner

not sure how temporary it will be because of my friends financial issues he has no idea how long it will be before he will take her back. but i have no problem with keeping her for as long as needed or just keeping her but if or when he wants her back i will let him have her. anyway my wife and i had been discussing getting a bp as it was when this situation came up and she came with everything she needs. i changed her bedding and cleaned the tank she had lighting and stuff to hide in. so far so good.

    Re: New BP owner

i noticed you said the snake had lighting...ive read alot on here that bp's dont need light as they're nocturnaland the light would stress them out...i think....they need belly heat to digest their food. belly heat can be provided by under tank heaters.

    Re: New BP owner

i have no under tank heater right not so the lights are for heat and to keep a day/night schedule. from what research i have done if you do use lighting as long as you hold a 12/12 schedule it will not harm the snake.
