    Possible Dinker?

A few years back I bought this female from Adam over at 8 Ball Pythons as a "Blurry" ball python. He sold it to me at a normal's price but he said he suspected there might be something special hidden in there because of the strange pattern.
    Picture when I got her:

    Picture taken today:

I bred her with my pastel male. Her eggs just hatched and one of the normals in the clutch looks VERY similar to her pattern.

    Another pic of the baby:

Am I crazy or do they look very similar? Think there might be something inheritable about this blotchy pattern? Or have I been staring too long at them are these both just random normals?

Extremely reduced, very light, flames, pastel-esque fading. Nice pairing, but no the baby doesnt seem to hold mom's traits. Lets see the pastels, and look at them in the future when they get bigger, perhaps they will better hold their color. What did the father look like?

I definitely see the pattern similarities, just the baby has the alien head where as mom does not. So, no it isn't just you.

I'd try her with the most reduced male I could get my hands on, and see if it happens again.
