Re: Appropriate price for a het pied female?

I paid $225 plus shipping for my female 09 het pied. She had no papers, but has belly markings. She was I think 250g when I received her. I trust the guy who sold her to me. Some people sell them high, some people sell them low. Typically if they're being sold with papers they'll be a bit higher. Just what I've noticed.

And yeah, I understand that the value is significantly less without paperwork. He'd have to sell the snake to someone else who knew him, or knows the breeder to command a price like I've seen in this thread.
Your snake is not worth any less without paperwork. Paperwork is worthless.

Re: Appropriate price for a het pied female?

Well, I'm in graduate classes with the guy I bought them from, and I saw him last evening. I told him what I've said here, and I offered him the snake back if he'd like to try to get a better price for them. He thought about it a bit and told me he'd rather know I had the snakes because he knows they'd be cared for properly, than to try to get a better price from a stranger. As far as the money goes, he suggested that if I get her to produce eggs, I sell him one of the hatchlings for a good price. I said it was a deal.

    Very cool guy.

I agree. Anyone can make up some paperwork. Only true way is to breed it yourself or only buy from someone who is 100% reputable and will stand by their animals.
