    Leo List...

I might be getting a Leo so I made up a list of what I need. Here it is and tell me if I need anything else. =)

Also could some one give me a detailed care sheet? I couldn't find one.

    10 Gal Tank
Zoo Med Repti Rock Small Corner Water Bowl
Zoo Med mini Reptitherm heating pad
Zilla 1000 Watt Temperature Controller (Could I go lower on the wattage of this thing?)
    Lee's Mealworm Dish
    3 Coconut Hiding Spot
RepCal ultra fine calcium with D3
Exo Terra Digital Hygrometer with Probe
2 Zoo Med Digital Thermometer with probe
    Paper Towels

I got rid of the Zoo Med Repti Rock Small Corner Water Bowl and replaced it on the list with a Extra small rock bowl and then I got rid of the RepCal ultra fine calcium with D3 and replaced it on the list with Sticky Tongue Minerall INDOOR formula. I also reduced the hides to only 2.

Hmm not sure out that "indoor formula" stuff, i forgot to add in my fist post that you need a calcium supplement AND a vitamin supplement. I recommend both the items from Repti-Cal.

This is what it says. "Miner-All is phosphorous free, human-grade calcium supplement formulated to stick better to insects than any other product! The only product scientifically balanced with over 50 vital mineral and trace-minerals found in skin, bones, and muscles of wild herps."

Also how many Meal-worms does an adult eat each day?

Mine will only eat three at most usually.

I'm guessing you're going to use the paper towel as substrate?

Yea I went on and read it too, but you want to dust with calcium more often than you do with vitamins so thats kind of impossible to do if they are combined.... you can keep that and use it as your vit. supplement but I would definately recomend getting a calcium supplement also.

And my babies eat at least 15 mealworms each, it takes them about 5 min to down that many.... 3 sounds like an under feeding if that is all you are feeding them, that doesnt seem right. And there is nothing wrong with leaving meal worms in the dish at all times, when they are hungry they will eat and when they are full they will stop. My babies eat tons! So I try to limit it to about 20 a day for each

My dragons eat 40-60 a day. I can't imagine one of my leo's eating 20 in a day, but you're talking about small mealworms so there is a big difference. My full grown leo's eat just a few large meal worms every night. I also give them crickets.

I leave mealworms in usually all the time. I have a large abundance of them, I would LOVE if they would eat 20 a day. Hell, I'd love if they'd eat 100 a day!

Yea my little baby dragon only eats about 20 I wish he would eat more haha. But yea I feed medium mealworms to my babies, they are pretty decent size though. I dont see how they can eat that much but they wolf them down, the little pigs are growing like crazy and i love it! And yea if you are feeding crickets too then all is good, I was just thinking of 3 mealworms a day and I was like hmm... Thats like me eating one hotdog a day lol.

And yea I would love it if all my leos ate more but I dont want to overfeed cause it seems like they eat everything I give them almost in one sitting, I cant keep mealworms in long enough for there to be extra haha

hunter94, to answer your question about the t-stat, you DEFINITELY could get a lower wattage. That heat pad should only be drawing ~10 watts or so (the one on my 10g tank is 8 watts). I'd use that t-stat for a rack! I personally use a rheostat.

cstruthers, one day I presented one of my beardies with well over 100 small-medium mealworms. He was eating them like a pig eating from a troth, just mouthfuls of mealworms. He got about half of them down before I decided that I made a mistake and took out the dish. His poop was very interesting the following day.
