Super Happy!!

I've had a 3 yr old male 100% het pied for about 3 or 4 months now and he has NEVER eaten for me! He just stares at the food and then seemingly just looks at me as if to say "what the #%$@ do you want me to do with that?"

So last night I decided "you are GONNA eat, little man." so I thawed a rat, and just dropped it in for him and left him alone. intended on grabbing it this morning as I was sure he wouldn't eat.

long story short, I woke up 20 minutes late for work and forgot the rat, in my rush. I worried about it all day thinking something was going to turnout not so good. When I came home an hour ago the rat was gone, Slick is now fat and happy, haha!

Now if he'll just CONTINUE to eat for me...

just keep him on a weekly feeding schedual and he should be fine! and since he ate when you left it alone over night, you should try it like that for the next few feedings, or just continue that forever. some just are picky when it comes to how theyll take their food. im glad he ate for you. my het pied male didnt eat for 6 months, then he got back on, but the only thing is hes a mouse feeder, but i have no problem with that.

I know what you mean. I'm probably just going to continue feeding him this way, just toss it in and leave him to it when he's ready. Everyone else will take a rat that I just hold in front of them. but noooo, not slick! he's gotta be DIFFERENT! LOL

Grats!!! I just had an 08 normal finally eat after 6 long months. Its such a relief when they take that first bite
