    First Meals and Updated Pics

My one and only clutch this season is doing wonderful! So far we only have 1 holdout for food, but all the others are eating and pooping.

    This is 2010C1N3 at hatching

This is 2010C1N3 now (with dinner )

Big difference in the little one and its only been 2 weeks. Here are a few eating pics.

Also, I'm getting a little tired of calling them all by their numbers. I like all my animals to have names and since my husband wants me to keep them all, they all need names. The father's name is Sram, Mars spelled backwards so I figured I'd go with a space theme. Here are names I'm considering....

    Io - Jupiter's moon
    Titan - Saturn's moon
    Europa - Jupiter's moon
    Callisto - Jupiter's moon
    Umbrial - Uranus's moon
    Oberon - Uranus's moon
    Mercury
    Venus

Feel free to suggest other space-themed names for the little ones. As far as I know, I have 2 confirmed males, one of the normals and one of the snows. I had someone else pop them but I want a 2nd opinion. I still have not been able to pop them. I don't do it hard enough to hurt them but I guess I'm just not doing it right. So if anyone is in the Richmond area anytime soon, and would be willing to actually TEACH me to pop, please PM me. (I asked the guy that popped these to teach me to pop but he just popped them, told me what they were and went onto the next person. I don't really trust his results.)

They are looking great .I wish you were closer because i would not have a problem of taking the time to teach you how to pop .Thats sad the person could not spare that extra minute to show you

    Thanks!

I told this to my sister and she said the last time she was in the store, he actually admitted to her that if he doesn't know something, he makes stuff up. The only other store I know of that is even minimally knowledgeable in reptiles doesn't sex reptiles (they know bare basics and even then, sometimes their reptiles look less than great). So I definitely don't trust his results.

    Congrats on them eating!

Try putting up a classified ad here or maybe over at fauna or any other reptile site. When I wanted to learn many years ago, I looked up breeders that were close to me and just started calling and asking them if they'd show me to pop and probe. I offered to buy them dinner for their time. Managed to find a nice guy about 30 min away who showed me.

    Good luck with them.

Awww, sooo cute! I can only hope that my 7 turn out to look as nice as yours. Hope your one holding out on food jumps on the bandwagon.

That is a great idea. I'll put up a few ads tonight. Thanks everyone. These little noodles are truely amazing. I feel so privledged that I get to watch them grow. One has already gained a gram! Its the really light normal above. I am such a proud snake grandma. (feels weird saying that when Im only 23 but the mother of this clutch is like my baby.)
