    My Repticon pickups and more...

It was a good show. I only ended up going Saturday. I honestly got everything I wanted the first day, which was looking very unlikely and then as we were leaving I ran into an old friend. He asked what we were looking for and that's when he told me about John Wiseman.

I went to Repticon looking for a BRB, pac-man frog, rats and hides. First I'll share my lame pictures from the show. I should have gotten so many more but I was intent on finding what I wanted, so that came first.

Almost picked up one of the pastels...

    I liked the albinos...

    That superblast is KILLER!

    Pinstripes I was considering...

Giant Peruvian spider of some sort that my mom held. I can't believe she'd hold that but not one of my snakes

OK, now on to my stuff! Here's a couple pictures of Walle, he shed Saturday morning....

Here is the new beardie we got last week. She was light yellow, so we named her Twinkie, but she has seemed to get much darker. Maybe she'll shed soon.

Now get ready for the D'AWWWWWWW. Here's our new Veiled Chameleon, Doug. He is so cool. I am just worried that he's so small. We got plenty of good tips and he seems very healthy. He's pooped twice, eaten and has already shed. I just love how he changes colors!

Still has some stuck shed on him...

    On my finger

Day two, took these pictures and now he'll just chill for a while. It's crazy to see him scramble, they can actually move pretty fast when they want too.

    Hey, sup?

As soon as I put him back in his cage, he started showing some good colors.

Last but not least, Rev. I finally have my BRB!

He's really chill. Struck at me once, but it was more of a headbutt...

Nice pickups! However, I must say that the prices on most of those animals at the expo are depressing. $60 for a pastel! $300 for albinos and $200 for pins! Not that I didn't know but just seeing it on morph after morph is disconcerting.

umm....EW SPIDER!!! I haaaaate spiders. I dont get how someone could hold that thing and not a snake. Yuck...that gave me the chills. If I saw that thing outside, or worse, in my house...I think I'd just pass out. Lol thanks for creeping me out!

The snakes are beautiful though! Love the BRB, nice colors! And I love Doug, he is so cute!

I thought they were high too. My BRB was originally priced at $150. That's about the price I would pay if I ordered one online with shipping. I got him to go down though, too $100. I still don't think it's a great price, but the BRB surpassed my expectations. Doug was $40, I won't complain about that, but I do wish he was a little older.

Even some of the accessories were expensive, but I didn't look at thermostats so I don't know how those were priced. Price on rats weren't that great eather, but still cheaper than what I was paying. I fed off a large and a small and I was very happy with the quality of the rats from Charles @ Cider Reptiles and Rodents.

I don't think that's what was being referred to. Those prices seem very low. 2 years ago I paid $300 for a pastel and that was a male, I can't believe how much the prices have dropped.

That BRB is very nice! Always been interested in them, their husbandry needs were a little too much for me though and very particular.

The Veiled Chameleon is very cute! Some of the pictures you have are very nice.

Nice pick ups, they all look good..
As far as prices, remember its called supply and demand and near everybody who steps into balls breeds them so the supply MAY be greater than the demand..

I had a great time at the show, I went both days. Not all of the vendors were selling there stock as cheaply as the ones in the pictures. I noticed that prices were all over the place and that some vendors were low balling in order to dump their snakes. The farther back you got in the hall, the cheaper the snake and the less desirable also. By Sunday those albinos were $50 cheaper while breeders like Ben Seigel did not do much lowering of their prices. In my book, quality counts!

Yeah, I meant the prices were low. $60 is getting a bit too close to normal pricing and $300 for a homozygous recessive is ridiculous.
