A) Usually you have to insure the phone within the first 30 days from purchase.

reggi, hopefully it will dry a bit more and regain more functionality, sometimes they do. When you aren't it using take the battery out, really give it a good chance to thoroughly dry.

I did the samething......I took mine apart and set it on a towel and let it air dry...then took a blow dryer on low heat and got rid of any remaining moisture.
As for insurance...depends on who your company is...im with verizon and the insurance doesnt cover water damage....and they can tell cause there is a dot that turns a different color....i think its behind the battery. a couple of months after my water incident, I brought my phone in for another reason and because the dot was changed it was a no go.

I never said I didn't, I was simply pointing out that that was fraud. That is something I wouldn't and haven't done...out and out fraud is wrong. I don't have insurance on my phone and when the day comes that something happens to it (outside of the warranty) I will pony up and pay for a new one. It's a decision I made years and years ago and it will suck if something does happen but I will not lie about it or try to scam my way into a new phone at Verizon's, and therefore, every subscriber's expense.

Sometimes I can't believe people's lack of morals.. or at the very least the inability to adhere to this forums TOS.
Sure it's not exactly like you're suggesting something as obviously wrong as stealing from girl scouts, but insurance fraud is still a serious crime that is tantamount to larceny.
There are 'little white lies', like keeping a surprise party a secret from someone, and then there's STEALING a few hundred dollars.

Okay, but the only difference between me and you is I can admit to not being perfect. I didn't know I was in the presence of the almighty.
