    2200ish gram female...Question...

I was just wondering about how many should I expect from her...I know it varies ALOT, I was thinking (HOPING) for around 8-10, maybe more...I have 2 males that will be courting her...both are 700-800 grams....the pastel is proven, from what I'm told, the spider...Never bred but showed alot of interest eariler...

This is gonna be my first attempt at breeding, I do have ton of knowledge on breeding/husbandry ect., I just never actually bred before. I've done tons of research, and feel very well prepared.

    Thanks.

For her first time 8 is realistic. There are so many variables, you never know. One of my larger girls drops more slugs so clutches are the same as smaller girls.

    Re: 2200ish gram female...Question...

Yeah, I understand that, alot of different variables come into play when breeding and some females dont even take. The guy I got her from has smaller girls around 1300-1600 dropping around 6-7 per clutch...I'm hoping everything goes perfect for myfirst time and she just has a good clutch, and I get a few babies...

She is a Virgin, from what I was told. It was a pet as a biby and neve bred, so I'm hoping she'll be a good girl and give me a few pearly whites..

    Re: 2200ish gram female...Question...

Well it is pretty much up to the female and you wont know until she lays.. For instence my biggest girl was my 07 pastel at 3200g virgin(was hoping for a nice clutch). She laid 3 good eggs and 2 slugs(only fem to give me slugs this year). My other girls around 1800-2200g were giving me between 6-8 on average. My smallest girl bred this year will lay in the next couple weeks so waitting to see hoping for more than 3.... lol

    Re: 2200ish gram female...Question...

Excatly.."Expect the UNexpected"..lol...But, I'm HOPING for around 6-8. She'd nice and beefy though, I'm gonna offer her a med rat and see what she does. She's been off feed for a week now so I might see what she does with the pastel until next week. She's with himright now, and he's already nudging her and flickering his toung all over her, befor I came into work he was laying on top of her...Hopefully they'll be a little more friendly in the next few days....Once the spider sheds I'll try him, he was really interested in her when I put her with him to see how he'd react....

My 2400g virgin just laid 6 eggs with 1 slug. Clutch weighs in at 650g. I'm happy with that. Now I hope the odds gods are looking down on her. She was paired to my 700g Butter pos het ghost.

Very nice, hope you get some nice odds. Yeah, I'm gonna be happy with whatever she drops. I'm not looking for a $$$ making scheme, just to produce a few visuas, work my way up to super pastels, bees, killers..I just enjoy these guys a ton, and breeding, to ME, I believe will be a Great experience...

Last year was my first attempt, but no locks. This year is my first clutch, so kinda nervous. Should hatch in a month. fingers crossed. Good luck to you.

    Re: 2200ish gram female...Question...

Yeah, theres even that possibility of no locks...

Good luck to you man, I bet your gonna have a nice clutch of morphs.

Thanks, I'm gonna need a little luck...I'm just happy I got the two main ingredients...lol...2 males and a female. I have no problem waiting till next year or whenever to get a clutch, I bet she'd have a nice sized clutch at 3000+ grams..lol.

    Re: 2200ish gram female...Question...

Mona was around 2500-2600g pre-gravid, and she laid 7 eggs for me... can't remember if I bought her as a proven breeder, so she may or may not have been a "virgin." It totally varies, though, so you never know what to expect!
