Is it normal that a 1yr old (50 grams) cali king snake sheds about every 1 month...(with a 2 fuzzy feed every 7 days) ??

Sounds spot on. Something you could do is feed larger meals instead of 2 fuzzies. Cal kings can handle big meals and it will save you some money.

A meal about 1.5 times his girth every 7-10 days would be a good schedule. You'd be surprised how large of a meal they can swallow! Keep handling to a minimum until the lump in his stomach is gone, which should be about 2 days. And make sure you slow down the feeding once he's full grown, Cal kings have no problem over eating their way to obesity.
