Really Active BP Day or Night

So we have had our Newest Ball python for almost 2 weeks now.. And ever since Day one he has been very active. Always roaming around randomly day or night. He does hide alot as well... But we see him out 3 in the afternoon for lil bit then he hides.. then later again... then back in. My other ball that i had years ago would hide allllll the time and only come out when i fed him or at night to get a drink. This new guy isnt even trying to get out all the time... sometimes he just wants to lay ontop of his hide. He doesnt even curl up just folds in half and goes to bed.

    Temps
    UTH:88-90
    Air:83
Humidity: (strugling to keep it at 50%) Going to have to do the foil trick. Been misting twice daily to keep it up.
Setup: 10gal with hide cermic water bowl and coconut husk buttom. 50watt red heat bulb

He ate for us Last friday too. It was a a mouse hopper.

The only thing we could think of is he is either still hungry....a reallly active snake.... or his daylight cycle is confused. So today we started to let more light into the room from the windows since it has been pretty dark.

Any thoughts would be great. I think he is fine.. just wanted some of your opinions.

    Thanks

You could bump your hot spot up a little bit to about 92-93.

My baby ball acts the same way, he's pretty adventerous a lot of the time, and will also lay on top of his hide and go to sleep randomly, and try to climb to the top of his tank and try and push his way out.

I think if he's eating, then he's probably comfortable, so he probably isn't that stressed.

I do notice also, like you did, if it's dark in the room, he'll also come out during the afternoon and explore a little bit, get a drink, and wander around. So I also started giving a little more natural light into the room, and now he's only super active mainly when it's really dark.

Yeah he is definatly interesting. Today my g/f was doing some misting and refilling the water bowl she said he just slithered up on to her hand and wanted to chill so she held him some for a minute or two put him back in he went in his hide till the lide went on then back out he went to explore. Now I DID NOTICE after he ate.... he didnt come out for roughly 2days which as ive read is pretty normal too. MAybe we have realllly active snakes lol. But with the more light im curious if that stops it some. Time will tell.

I think babies are a little more active, although they do like to hide a lot. Our 1 1/2 year old, strickly only explores at night time, I've never seen him out during the day. Most balls usually hide for a couple days after eating so they can digest. Our 1 1/2 year old will also crawl onto your arm at night time when he's out so he can get out of his tank and explore.

Since you've only had her for two weeks it's normal for her to roam around. I'm sure she will calm down and get into a routine soon. It's like breaking in new shoes, takes a little while to get fully comfortable but doesn't necessarily mean yo uneed to change anything.

    good luck!
