    Female weight?

I was curious guys I"m getting a normal female thats almost 2500 grams. Now I know girls have all different size clutches depending on size and other variables. But could you guys give me an idea of how many eggs you think I could get from a girl that big? Just ball parking. This will be my first breeding season and I'm trying to learn and research as much as I can. Thanks

    Re: Female weight?

A breeder I know had a 3200g female lay 4 eggs. He said they were really big eggs but still only 4. He said the year before she produced 6 and she was still close to 3000g's.

My 2000g girl laid 5, so I'd say 6-9, but thats just ball park.

I had a 1800 gram female lay 7 eggs and a 2400g female lay 4 eggs. Different girls just lay differently.

its funny you'd think the bigger the girl the more eggs, but as long as they are healty I"m happy with that.

    Re: Female weight?

My 1700 gram pied layed 7 healthy eggs this year and our normal that weighed 2100 grams last year layed 9 healthy eggs. It all just depends on the girl...just as others said.

All things considered, I would say 4-15 eggs.

    Re: Female weight?

As everyone said, results can vary greatly... but my girl Mona weighed around 2500-2600g before becoming gravid, and she laid 7 eggs for me last week.
