Babies coming out with remnants exposed on belly
Hi, I am experiencing my second clutch hatching ever. My first was last week, and everything was fine. Now, I have a clutch Mojave x Normal. Two females have emerged but both had a sack hanging from their belly slit. The first was small, and I gently massaged it back in. She seems fine. Last night a normal came out with a larger one, so I did the same thing. Now she seems sore, and is laying with that part of her belly exposed.
Now I think maybe I shouldnt have done this? I wish I had taken a pic. I have 5 more babies yet to emerge, probably will today, I am afraid of hurting them.
Any ideas would be appreciated. BTW, I have 4 mojaves and 3 normals in the clutch the first mojave to emerge is a female

Sounds like the last of the egg yolk sack, and it does NOT need to go into the belly. In the future, just put the snake on wet paper towels and let it fall off on its own.

No, you should not have done this, hopefully they are ok.

Re: Babies coming out with remnants exposed on belly
I just got back from the Wheaton, IL show, and found out what you all just told me. Ughh, what a rookie, poor babes. Well, for now they seem fine, even the normal girl, will keep a close watch,
Thanks to all for your help, now I know. All of the babes are out of their eggs now, except for one normal. 3 male mojaves and the 1 female.
