    Hydration

I got a new albino ball python on friday and shes not in the greatest shape. Shes about 320 grams, little underweight and she has some dehydration going on. I've got her in a 10 gal quartine tank with a huge water bowl, newspaper but I"m going to get some bedding to up the humidity in her cage also to help her. I mean shes alert, eyes look good but shes also about to shed to. Should I put any gatorade in her water? I've been reading that they say you can do that to help them rehydrate quicker. I was curious what you your guys thoughts were? thanks in advance

    Re: Hydration

You said she is about to shed, so make sure her humidity is around 60%-70% and leave her alone. That could be one reason why she looks dehydrated. I've never heard of giving a snake Gatorade, but I have heard of people using something called Pedialite, although I don't know what the dilution ratio is...

If she is not severely dehyhrated, she'll hydrate herself.

    Re: Hydration

I wouldn't bother with the Gatorade. Just make sure she has fresh water and the humidity is about 60-70% and you should be good to go.

I wasn't thinking I would need to go that route but I've never had a dehydrated snake before.

I weighed my girl today just to see with her having some water if she gained any weight. She went from 322 Friday night when I picked her up to 339 today.
