Dent in eye - anything to worry about ?

This little baby BP is clearly up for a shed. Now he is quite snappy - keeps striking against thin air including the glass door.

Today I noticed this little dent. What I don't know is

1. Does it come from hitting the glass door when striking
2. Is the dent shallow enough so it doesn't affect the eye underneath the "loose" skin ?

#1 probably not as he probably hits the glass with his nose but I thought I still ask

I did cover the enclosure up for now to avoid him trying to strike at anything that moves

i would say its preshed skin thats just dented from flipping out and hitting the glass, shouldnt be anything to worry about unless the dent remains postshed. keep us updated

Looks like your humidity is low. What is it measuring at? And how are you measuring it? It should bounce back with a little misting, but you should try and keep his humidity at 50% all the time. And wouldn't hurt to bump it up during his shed cycle.

I notice this sometimes when my BP sheds, every few times. So far there has been no damage that I know of -- I think it's quite normal, but then again I'm not an expert. If your BP still acts oddly after the shed, like his vision is still very off, maybe take him to a vet.

Its around 60% and he has a humid hide, waterbowl have on a heat mat to evaporate and a waterbowl a diving team would be proud of

Lol. Hmm. Strange. Maybe it's only because he's in shed. I would definately keep an eye on it. The only time I've ever seen a dent has been becuase of low humidity. Of course, that's not saying much. I only have 10 snakes, and not nearly as much experience as some. And, I've never had one that cranky. Lol. Are you feeding him enough. My hatchling pastel is cranky, but it's time upgrade her food.

Usually happens from dehydration, and it's shedding, this is fairly common. Bump humidity as you should when in shed, and continue with that humidity if the lump isnt gone after shed.

Oh, and spray the enclosure with a spray bottle of water.

What kind of hygrometer do you have and where is it placed in the enclosure?

Dented eye caps are most often caused by low humidity.
