Interesting Shed

I have had a non eater male BP, not eaten since January. So last week, I noticed he was going into shed. I wake up today and I have a nice shed sitting in his enclosure.

My question, without eating for such a long time and losing 80 grams of weight, how can he have shed? There's been no growth recently, which would usually be the reason for a normal shed. So, how and why would my little buddy go into shed?

Don't know why, but same here, I have a few girls that hasn't eaten anything since December and they shed a few weeks ago!!

I'm pretty sure that shedding has as much to do with keeping healthy, ridding the body of pets, keeping a nice oily skin, etc. It probably isnt just because they are gaining weight.

They shed for a variety of reasons. Stress, growth, injury...Just because he isn't growing doesn't mean he shouldn't shed.

And, just because he isn't gaining weight doesn't mean he isn't growing. Remember snakes never stop growing, they just slow down. He's loosing fat and a little muscle but the rest of him is still growing.
