    New to this

Hello all, I usually post in tegu forums, but the ball pythons have caught my eye recently. Please bear with me, I have kept a spotted python and a carpet python, but never had a bp.

I have never bred any reptiles before, but I am planning to build a rack this week and raise up some baby snakes for future plans. Expect to see lots of questions from me, I wanted to start this thread so I can follow my progress and education.

Please realize I can do my own research, but if I get pro tips from you peeps, I can get off to a better start.

*I need a crash course on bp genetics. How all of these dominant, recessive, and codominant traits work. Suggest a link?

*This one is sort of a theory thing. I cant seem to put my finger on the formula for this. Basically, which "morphs" are optimal to have in your male snakes, and which are optimal for females when starting out. I would assume having a more valuable male would be optimal because he can give his genes to many females with less impressive combos. Is this right?

*I am going to need livestock and equipment, and I havent really looked into either. I was thinking of starting out with a pair of het albinos, maybe a nice pastel, etc. Who should I look to for quality and affordable animals?

Sorry if anything (or everything) in this post is unclear, I just have so much going on in my head. I am really excited. Any links would be greatly appreciated.

    Sam

This is a question you have find the answer on your own. Depends on what moprhs you prefer, and specially, which you want to breed. We needed nearly half a year before we really know in which direction we want to go
