Could is a pretty loose word. You could make a rack out of hamburger meat, but wouldn't it start to stink?
I don't see why you wouldn't be able to make a rack out of fiberglass, I'm just not sure why you would want to. It would, I imagine, be VERY expensive, since you would need thick sheets of fiberglass. Much more cost effective to use some of the more conventional materials, and I would think that xpvc would be more durable and stronger anyways.
Unless the idea was to make a see-through rack, which could be cool, although it wouldn't do much for making the animals feel safe haha.

you could make a rack that way and spray the glass over a thinner wooden frame I think. but hte cost and mess would be an issue. I also think there would be a oder/heating related issue( I never worked with glass ) so I not sure how it handles the heating up and down that a rack would do.

i think u could make it, but it would be much more work and i would cost much more than usual materials.
u can use melamine or pvc. melamine is much cheaper and does the job well.
all my racks are out melamine and ive no probs. pvc is more resistent agianst humidity but if u seel all the cornes with aquarium silicon u will have no problems.
its available in all kinds of colors at lowes etc.
