    Re: good place?

It's going to depend on exactly what kind of RTB you are interested in as far as how much you are going to spend. Do a bit of research. All boas are not created equal. Some, like the true red-tails (Guyana, Suriname, Peruvian) can easily hit 9-10 feet, while alot of the Central American (Nicaraguan, Costa Rican, Mexican) are considered dwarf boas, meaning they generally stay in the 5-7 feet range. Then there are the Insular Island boas ( Caulker Cay, Crawl Cay, Hogg Island, Corn Island) which are also generally smaller. The most common ones are the Columbians, which generally get in the 7-8 feet range. A good place to start would be the Boa Classified section at Kingsnake.com or FaunaClassified.com. Alot of the people who sell on there have links to their websites where they usually have more listed. Good Luck and happy hunting...

    Re: good place?

Looking for a true redtail (Bcc) or a common Bci?

If you're looking for a Bci, Dave Colling has some of the best boas out there.
    http://rainbows-r-us-reptiles.com/availableBCI.htm

Perfectly fair prices for top notch boas, and all of his animals are in excellent health.

Here's my 09 I bought from him last year for $50. She was nothing special back then, but she is coloring up NICELY! Healthiest of all of my snakes, has never missed a meal (live, f/t, mice, rats, she'll eat anything!), but is very docile.

If you're looking for a Bcc of any locale, I have heard wonders about Rio Bravo Reptiles. Actually, I think Rio Bravo sells several locales of Bci, too.

There are alot of breeders out there.
Go to reptileinsider.com and see all the boa folks. I log in as Bayou Exotics on that site.
Al Brown, Marc Duhon(surinamboas.com), Ed Lilley(proline cages), and many others are active on reptileinsider.com
