    egg veins question

This is my second clutch of the year, it was normal X pastel. they were layed right on schedule 30 days after her pre lay shed. my question is when i candled them tonight, 1 egg has veins throughout the entire egg. the other 4 have veins which look very good but do not extend through the whole egg. is it normal for the veins to spread after a few days or should they be through the whole egg on the first day? My first clutch I didn't candle til they were a week old so I have nothing to compare to. I don't have any candled pics cause my camera sucks in low light but I know i cant post without any pics so here are the eggs lol

    Re: egg veins question

If you catch the eggs early enough, they may not have complete veins thru out the egg. This is normal. They should be fine.

    Re: egg veins question

Same as heather said. I just had a clutch laid a few hrs ago and I candled right away and most of them had veins all through the eggs and one or two had them only half way up the inside of the egg but as long as they have good red veins they should be fine

    Re: egg veins question

ok, thanks for the input, the veins were nice and red and i'll candle them again in a few days. I'm so excited, it's my first year breeding and my first clutch is due to hatch in 2 weeks.... this waiting game sure is tough lol
