He's still trying to find the gene which makes the Platty Daddy a True or Full Platinum, as opposed to the Lessers. And people think these morphs are unnatural and couldn't survive in nature.

Its a calico spider right? I'm sure it has been produced before. Calicos and spiders have been around for a while. Calicos are pretty expensive but spiders are fairly cheap now.
