    Hatchlings first shed..

How long after hatching does this shed usually happen? My first clutch came out 10 days ago...some are definitely still in shed, but a couple look like they have all ready shed...but I can't find the shed skin anywhere?? Maybe they are still in shed...

Up to two weeks, maybe even more. I would say just be patient and watch.

They need to be on moist paper towels 'til they shed.

I havent produced any offspring but im guessing the shed cycle is just like the adults. They go into blue then appear to have shed. They look clear, but this is the stage right before the actual shed.

Put them on wet paper towels for sure. If it is the same cluch, clutchmates, they should shed within a day or two of eachother. Most shed the same day. They should be very, very damp until they shed.

    Re: Hatchlings first shed..

Thanks for the info. Just went and checked and a few have shed since I posted that last message and all the others I picked up are beginning to peel. Nice full sheds.
