Re: How to get a 900g female to 1500g in 6 months...???

Well, I checked my rats a little bit ago. My small rats are about 80 grams. My medium rats are mixed......they are 90-95 grams for the smaller ones and 120-130 grams for the larger mediums. I have a 10 pack. I think my two super eaters can easily handle a smaller medium (100 gram) rats. They are about the same thickness as my BP's. Also, my 1700 gram can easily handle the mediums, but my other girls will stay with small rats. Thanks for all the advice, I think I will stick with a 7 day feeding schedule so they keep eating well for me.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to try to stay away from the ASF's since I have heard they get hooked on them and start refusing regular rats sometimes. I will probably just feed them all 1 small F/T rat each week and my normal (with the huge appetite and aggressive behavior) and my 1700g pastel a medium (120g) rat each week. That way they will stay hungry and still make it to 1500 grams by December. I just wasn't sure one 80 gram rat per week would get them from 900 grams to 1500 grams in 6 months.

think you've overlooked... bigger royal = larger prey items = more weight gain per feed
