Crestie ?'s
Well, I feel like my gecko isn't eating enough. I replace her food every 2-3 days depending on the shape of it. I usually just add a little water once it dries and stir which makes it like new again. But, it always seems that there is the same amount of food and that none is missing. I have her in a 10 gallon tank, cypress mulch, water dish, and small cap from an apple juice container to hold her CGD. Temps range from 75-80, and humidity is 50%+. I mean I had her for a month or so and she seems fine, not acting funny, I just find it amazing how little she eats. Also, she is an adult not a baby. Should I be concerned?

First off, if she is pooping then she is eating. Also if you have the means, weight her; if she isn't lsoing weight then she is fine. Another thing may be to try another flavor (provided you're using a two partmix) maybe she just isn't into the flavor you chose, the good thing about CGD is that there is a plethora of flavors. You could also try feeding live I would sugest either nice gutloaded crickets or some B. Dubais.

If you're really worried about it, you could try feeding her from your finger. Wash your hands of course, then just dab some on the tip of your finger and see if she will lick it off. Mine always did.
However, they're really tiny so if she is still pooping I wouldn't worry about it. You might just not be able to notice depending on how much she eats.

Re: Crestie ?'s
You might need to be mixing more water into the food to start with--it shouldn't be drying up in two days time at 50% humidity unless its just a really thin/shallow amount of it that you are starting with. In that case, I would make it a bit deeper. If it does dry up you should replace it with new food, so that the mix is correct. Some cresteds also seem to prefer the mix to be a day or so old, so make sure you mix it wet enough that it is still edible after 24 hours without you having to add more water.

I'll try making the mix a little more watery so when it dries its not so...well, dry lol
thanks for your help, will keep you all updated

Re: Crestie ?'s
I'm looking for a little advice on the gecko diet as well. The directions say one part mix, to two parts water. I imagined it more like a paste, not runny. I can hear my Crestie thrashing through his plants and jumping here and there in the middle of the night, obviously trying to catch a cricket, but I'm not positive he eats the mix.
I've had the little guy since Sunday. How often to Crestie's have a "movement"? Is gecko poo anything like beardie poo? Bahahah, that probably sounds so silly. Just trying to be a good mama and know what to look for!

Re: Crestie ?'s
The CGD is not like really like a paste when mixed--it should be more runny than that. It has to be liquid enough that the gecko can lap it up, but it does gel up somewhat. It should be fairly runny when you mix it, because it does gel up as it sits. I usually mix it slightly more runny for babies so they have an easier time eating it.
Cresteds probably poop every couple of days. I never really documented exactly how often it is. It's not nearly as messy or smelly as a beardie poop--it often looks like a small bird poop.
Make sure not to leave crickets in the cage for more than 24 hours and only feed them once or twice per week so that your gecko is still hungry enough to also eat the CGD.
