Re: Reasonable sized boa?
I am not positive, but I do believe carpets get pretty large. I as I`ve said have an around 11 or so foot Burm, but I can manage him myself. eventhough it is not recomended, I still do. I just don`t put him around my neck anymore.(he stil is a snake) no matter how docile he is.
I might be getting the granite confused with the carpet, but I do believe I remember seeing very large carpets.
Hold on to what is good
even if it is a handful of earth.
Hold on to what you believe
even if it is a tree which stands by itself.
Hold on to what you must do
even if it is a long way from here.
Hold on to life
even when it is easier letting go.
Hold on to my hand
even when I have gone far away from you.

Yeah im thinking that the blood will be fine, they can get max 10 feet right? and thats manageable alone if you aren't stupid (like you said, not putting it around your neck ect)
Besides by the time it gets to be 8 - 10 feet ill be over 20 years old lol!

Re: Reasonable sized python?
A blood or short tail over 8 feet would likely be a record holder..I would suggest a Borneo short tail or Sumatran black short tail..Both are rather passive and acclimate quite well..See my thread under Blood pythons titled
Love my Borneos..

Re: Reasonable sized python?
Again, a Blood or Short Tail may not make the best beginner type snake, they arent as forgiving as Ball Pythons husbandry wise and can do downhill rather quickly if you dont ensure a proper setup.
Size wise, they all vary and there's giants and runts of all 3 species, but expect around 4 to 6 feet.

Oh yeah I will have a perfect set up, I know temps and humidity needed. Im getting a thermostat and 3 thermometers (one with a probe, one with humidity guage and temp, and one just pure temp. All digital) also getting UTH ect ect
I had a corn snake for a few years that was 6 foot long, but had to give it away cuz we were moving. Also I have dealth with large snakes with my dads friend before so im fairly experienced
I can guarantee if I get a blood it will be happy and healthy

I really think im gonna get the blood. They are so amazing I can't get over it!
