if you upload the pic with the same name and in the same category as before there's no problem. It just have to be the same adress to the picture.

Re: Protecting Your Collection Online
I'm just bumping this again, with the latest fiasco, I have had several people looking for advice on watermarking their images.

Re: Protecting Your Collection Online
This is great, we have had our pics taken right off of our website and used on another site.
I just downloaded faststone and followed Deborahs instructions, easy and fast.
Thanks Deborah!

Re: Protecting Your Collection Online
i would say use paint shop pro or photoshop to make and design your own watermark. i myself actually blend a picture in with my snakes picture making 2 backgrounds transparent into one that way no matter what you do you cant actually steal the picture for the fact it is water marked and has 2 pictures merged together with the water mark making it useless to try to crop or erase because the entire picture would have to be erased. they're alot of water marking software out there but for someone that knows psp or photoshop can take the water mark out of a picture regardless of where you put it. it isnt hard to make a photo copy of an image then erase half of it and re edit the picture to look as if it had never been touched. alot of work that way and rather useless in my opinion but some people it seems would go to that extreme just to form up a scam and i find such people useless, lame scum bags.

Re: Protecting Your Collection Online
We should also think about making watermarks a certain size.
Because like Deborahs Pic, I could easily take that water mark off.
Im just making a point here...please dont be mad. Im trying to help

I use PICASA3. It's also a free tool that lets you manipulate the sizes of the words, transparency and location.
Thankfully, my first pictures before I learned about watermarking SUCKED...I very much doubt that they can be used to sell any pictures...(I have forgotten to watermark a few of the later pictures, but others can easily select the "automatic" watermark choice so that it will do the job automatically).

Re: Protecting Your Collection Online
VERY helpful suggestion. thank you.
Hold on to what is good
even if it is a handful of earth.
Hold on to what you believe
even if it is a tree which stands by itself.
Hold on to what you must do
even if it is a long way from here.
Hold on to life
even when it is easier letting go.
Hold on to my hand
even when I have gone far away from you.
