    got a book deal

so I got offered a book deal (with an advance!) and am about to do the contract negotiation in half an hour.
    I AM NERVOUS!

it's an engineering reference book for a small technical publisher, but it feels like a big deal to me and I wish it didn't!
nervousness never did agree with me

I am probably going to take 3-6 months off from work in order to complete it on time (I think it's due one year from now pretty much) so it's a little risky financially for me. A risk I can afford luckily but not wicked easily. I also feel bad leaving my current client for that long - they really need the help!

anyway, just nervous venting here while I wait for my conference call to start. I feel like I'm gonna explode

    Re: got a book deal

    COngratulations!

I find conference calls to be pretty nerve racking going into, but the actual call is a breeze and I feel pretty good afterwards.

    You'll do just fine

yeah, I actually do conference calls almost every day for work, but this one has a different feel - the feeling you get when you're about to sign your life away
