    7 Egg Clutch

    And they're all infertile!

Has anyone ever experienced this? If you didn't candle them, you'd think that they were perfectly healthy eggs. Not a slug amongst them.

But they glow yellow with not a vein to be seen.

This was my only mojave clutch this year.

They're in the incubator until they rot - but they're still holding their shape and color.

That's terrible. I'm waiting on my first clutch. Should drop soon. If that kind of thing is going to happen, it will happen to me. Hopefully yours turn out. Good luck.

    Re: 7 Egg Clutch

I just had a Blood Python clutch get laid a month ago.....

And have been wiping condensation off the insides of the tubs once a week or so.

I found an egg yesterday that had a little of the white fuzzy mold on it....

Candled it and it was a gone-er, its held its shape for that long, though is a bit deflated now.

But after laying and this whole time, it looked like all the others.

Sorry to hear this, especially since yours seem bad right from the get go

    Re: 7 Egg Clutch

Sorry to hear that. Hope you have better luck with any other clutches.

Last season we had a clutch of 4 slugs and 3 eggs. Turned out 2 of the eggs were infertile. Only got one viable egg. This year a different girl laid the same ratio of slugs to eggs and one egg died a few days ago. The embryo was starting to develop. Two good eggs from that clutch. So far I've had crappy luck all around.

    Re: 7 Egg Clutch

    Robin,

Its pretty unusual from my experience to have an entire clutch of infertile eggs that look fine... I've had it happen though!

Sorry to hear the tough news.

That sucks. Has the male that you used sired a good clutch for you before or was this his first year breeding?

    Re: 7 Egg Clutch

I had my big girl lay me 12 of them this year.(Slugs) She had already laid me two clutches from the years before that where fine. They all looked good too. The only thing I can think of is I had a Thermostat fail It was out for a few days. This was before she laid them.
