    Re: Anyone else ride motorcycles???

I just finished changing my handle bars from 24" apes to drag bars. What a pain! Cutting, splicing, soldering and routing 14 wires to the switches. Changing and adjusting the throttle, clutch and brake lines. Now I'm waiting for another new T-Fitting for the brake lines to come in because the first one is leaking and I got it temp fixed with teflon tape, oye Maybe tomorrow I'll get some new pics of it...

Nice bike. I have to say I prefer apes for comfort reasons on harleys. Set your dead man and kick back. Also glad to see you got rid of the sissy bar...I have seen people go down, try to kick away and have the sissy bar catch them and drag them along.

I personally am a fan of all bikes, but most recently ride crotch rockets. Just sold my GSXR 1000. Looking for both a hayabusa and a buell by the end of the summer if funds permit. Here is the bike I just got rid of

They were ok for bumping around town, but not at 75-80MPH on the Interstate. They would get buffeted by the wind and you could feel it in the steering and sometimes it would cause a noticable shimmy. The first time I felt it I pulled over because I was sure the steering head bearing was coming apart. I just got tired of constantly having to fight it. They made riding more like work than fun and that's when I knew it was time for them to go...

You know, it never occured to me about getting hung up by the sissy bar if you go down...

    Re: Anyone else ride motorcycles???

No bike yet, but hubby and I are taking the class to get our licenses this year and will hopefully buy a bike in the fall. The bike will be mine, but hubby wants to be able to ride it. Only problem is I am 5'0" and 110 lbs so will need to have the bike lowered and handle bars modified more than likely. Hubby is almost 6'0" and 230 lbs so not sure how he's gonna ride my short bike
I will be getting a cruiser, not sure what kind though. I work for a car dealership and the owner has a bike dealership, too (same property as the car dealership) so I get an employee disc on bikes and and stuff. Will probably get whatever I like the look of that will need the least amount of mods. I decided on a motorcycle endorsment on my license and a bike as my mid-life crisis I only have a 2 mile ride to work, so I can park the Suburban and only use that when transporting family, dogs, groceries and in the winter.
