    Marsh Herping

No snakes this time around. Mainly went looking for snappers. Found few snapper nests but eggs hatched already.

Yea a day late and a dollar short it looks to me I am finding tons of snapping turtle babies now, although it is the other turtle babies I am looking for to photograph. Look for areas with maybe 1 inch of water, and heavy mud and I am sure you will get your fill or baby snappers. Everytime we get a thunderstorm now it seems like I see a monster Snapper trying to cross highways. Shame how many never make it.

Oh this was a 800acre swamp/marsh. These egg nests were about 20 yards from the water and mud. I went into the mud as well knee high and still nothing just frogs and egg shells.

Still cool pics of the nesting site, and on the bright side now you have a reason to go back out.
