    some egg questions

So I have a pair of eggs, they are on day 68, one egg has gotin kinda squishy and seems to be getting mold on it but when I candle it no light comes through. The other egg looks normal and firm and when I candle it I see the little guy in there. so my question what should I do with the moldy looking one? I noticed the egg get squishy/change color about a week ago. should I just wait or should I try to cut it?

    Thanks!

oh another note, I noticed more condensation on the inside of the container thats what got my attention in the first place, I know with BP's the condensation is means there producing there own heat and will hatch soon.

I will try to get pics when I get home at my grandmas house.

    Re: some egg questions

It sounds like the one egg may have gone bad. If it starts to smell, toss it, if not it's your choice really what you want to do with it.

At this point I'd just say let it be and wait it out.

Condensation just means that temps inside and outside the lay box are different. The only indicator I've noticed of being near hatching is when eggs are candling black- it means the gecko is filling the egg and it is just absorbing the remaining yolk.

    Re: some egg questions

If the egg is squishy and moldy it has probably gone bad. I always keep them for a while anyhow just to make sure, but once it has caved in, molded over and smells bad you pretty much know it's time to toss it. If there is a hole or small crack that could cause some of the fluid in the egg to leak out a bit and that's what you see on the tip. Once the shell has been breached in any way, the contents will quickly dry up and whatever is inside will go bad.

    Re: some egg questions

I always keep 'em until I'm sure they've gone bad.. pretty much when you make the call "I'm sure it's gone bad", it's the right call.

Caved in, molded, and smells bad as mlededee said are the things i look for.

    Re: some egg questions

I looked at them again this morning, the molded one was looking really bad so I made the call, but I cut it open and it would have been a pretty little flame/harly. he was fully devlepoed but I think the cord got detacted
