Google Earth is your friend. Seriously though, I've found stuff using Google Earth.

I totally get your opinion on this. When I was a kid I would collect anything cool that I saw. As I have gotten older, I have gone more toward the photography direction. I wish I had someone to teach me the importance of leaving nature where it is when I was a kid. But agreed, just like fishing no one will give away their hot spots
