Are these supplies enough for a 3 week BP?
Hey, i'd like a little feed back on my BP setup, I havent gotten the snake yet, but when I get her she will be 3 weeks old (getting her June 20th - 25th, just after my Birthday on the 19th! ) anyway lol, heres what ive got so far:
Thermostat
2 Thermometers (One of which also has a humidity gauge) both are digital
One 20 Gal tank
Aspen substrait
2 hides
1 water bowl
Climb log (soon to be baked in the oven to destroy bacteria)
Lid with locks
UTH
Anything else that I need? Any input would be greatly appreciated
(I am very sorry for the 2nd same thread, I didn't realize i put the first in General pythons, instead of general BPs! my mistake! can a mod please delete the other?)

A 20 gal will probably be a bit big for a baby. Get like a 16qt plastic tub. You can place it in the tank so she may get used to it at the same time and you can still use it. Put like 1/3 of it over the hotspot of the tank, basically making a mini-tank inside the tank.
That's all I can think of. The logs not necessay and she could fall and hurt herself if she does use it.uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
Sorry, snake interrupted me. If she does use it. They're clumsy.

Okay! Climb log is gone, don't want my baby to get hurt
I am sort of low on cash, how expensive is the 16qt tub you are describing?

Under five bucks, I'd guess. I got a 41qt for $8. They're the plastic storage bins.

Re: Are these supplies enough for a 3 week BP?
The most important thing is a thermostat to control the UTH. It can over heat and be too hot or burn the snake. Pet stores do not usually sell these. My local petsmart occasionally has them but the quality is not that great. The thermostat is what the UTH plugs into. Then you plug the thermostat into the wall or your power strip. The probe for the therm should be taped with strong tape directly to the UTH under the tank/tub.
You will also need a digital thermometer with a probe to monitor the temperatures. Walmart carries one called a Weather Station. Its in the hardware/paint section by the thermometers and thermostats. Its a small grey unit with a big screen and a probe. Its less than $15.
This probe needs to be placed inside the tank directly on the glass over the UTH. The grey unit then sits in the tank on the cool side. The screen will show you the temp of the probe (hot side) and the temp of the cool side (ambient temp) at the same time.
The 20 gal will be ok if you do it right. The UTH needs to be 1/3 the size of the bottom of the tank. Put it on one side. Pick up 2 or 3 small cheap plastic cereal bowls from walmart or the dollar store. Cut a small hole in each and use these for the hides. They should have 2 identical hides that are small and tight fitting around the snake. Doing it with plastic bowls will save money as they grow so fast the first year and can just throw them away and get the next size up when it out grows the bowl.
Then you can put crumpled up newspaper, fake plants and vines or whatever you want that isn't too high so the BP will not fall off of anything and get hurt.
If you use these things and clutter up a bigger tank with lots of stuff the baby will feel more secure. One hide goes on the hot side, one cool side, maybe one in the middle. Wide and shallow water dish so it helps with humidity and the baby wont tip it over.
You will most likely need to cover the top of the screen if you use the tank instead of a tub. Cover it completely with a towel or use foil or something else and just leave a couple inches in one side for air. They need very little ventilation and you will want to try to keep the humidity at least 60% at all times. More when the snake is going in to shed.
Edit:: As for a thermostat to control the UTH heat, wait til some other members are up tomorrow. Im sure you can get some ideas on websites to buy from and brand names to get for cheap. The only ones I use are rather expensive and I cant think of the names of the lower cost ones right now.

Thank you very much for all the info!!! I am gonig to follow all of it
One question though, Is it okay that I can only afford a Reptitemp 500R thermostat for now? I am already breaching 200$ with all the thermometers ect, The MAX I can spend is like, 280$
was just wondering about your thoughs on that Thermostat, thats about the only problem I have left, Im gonna get a butt-load of plastic leaves, 3 identical hides (as you suggested, plastic bowls) all the same colour, ect ect
And, thank you again for the thermometer/thermostat prob advice! Because to be honest I have no idea how those things work. So that helped a great deal
Again, thank you so much! I am deeply greatful to everybody for all your help
edit: Hey Foschi Exotic Serpents just saw your edit, as I mention above the 22 - 30$ Reptitemp 500R thermostat is the cheap-o one, althought ive heard many good things about it

This is about the same price, but digital, so if nothing else, it'll be much easier to use. The dial on the Reptitemp sucks.
Foschi's right, too. You could just clutter it up. The more you put in the more you've got to keep clean, though. Good and bad about everything.
