It's entirely possible. I had a full-grown, 3100 gram female (probably about 5 feet) fit under my closet door. It was incredible to watch.

    Re: Ppython escaped!

My advise to you is simple. S-l-o-w-l-y look in every crack, crevice and hole you can find. Get down on your hands and knees and search carefully.

Do not try to find the whole snake, get that picture out of your head. Look for a smudge or smear that looks like a bp side. You will most likely only be able to see 2 or 3 inches of the snake at most. If you keep trying to see the whole snake you'll miss it.

Look for the tightest spot the snake can get to, remember balls are secretive and shy and will wedge themselves into the most impossible places seeking security. My girl Mauro came up missing the other night, really freaked me out because I had her out 2 days prior and had no idea when she'd escaped. After checking under her rack and not seeing her, I stood still and looked over every square inch of that rack. Within moments, I spotted a tiny smudge of bp side, where she was wedged between the wall and the rack. I could only see about 2 inches of her. It took about 15 minutes of panicky struggling to get her out, because she was wedged between them, but we got her out none the worse for wear.

I've been here long enough to see pictures of bp's hiding in the craziest places, including 5 feet off the ground between a bookcase and wall. But I rarely see much more than a bp colored smudge.

Search slowly and carefully, look for the smallest of signs in the most unlikely places, and chances are you'll find your snake.

Where were you at when you fell asleep? On the bed? Remove all of the covers and check between the mattresses. remove all drawers and look in every piece of clothing in them...

    Re: Ppython escaped!

I had one bp get lost once. The door was wide open so she could have gone everywhere. But, I found her inside a drawer about 5 feet from her tank. I looked through the drawer and didn't see her. I got so frustrated after hours of not finding her. Finally, I went through all the drawers again and took out EVERYTHING in there. And I found her on the bottom drawer inside a file folder which is why I didn't see her the first time.

So, yeah, I heard they don't travel too far usually. And yeah, try to empty every drawer you got in that room.

Sorry, I really don't have too much advice for this.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

Glad to hear this story had a happy ending. When I saw the time stamp on the first post I wasn't sure if this was going to end with an "Any update?" post or not.

I actually did the exact same thing the first month I had mine. I figured I could just sit there and since I was in contact with her I assumed I'd feel her moving. Well I didn't count on falling asleep.

Fortunately mine was just hiding under the tv. Like another poster said, they usually don't go far.
