    I use the substrateless method over hatchrite. I use the thick white light diffuser grating. My humidity is 100% and the hatchrite is drenched. My eggs stay full and plump until the last week. As long as the eggs do not touch the water they are fine with this method. Some people use a diffent method of grating (higher) and just pour water in the bottom of the incubator. No substrate at all and 100% humidity. This works too. The only problem is if the eggs actually come in contact with water.
