lol I go and do an update ( flash the bios and some driver updates) and reboot each time as requested) and then I install msi liveupdate4 ( for drivers and bios check to makes ure they all up to date) and the frignning pc crashed so bad I am attempting ot use windows 7 image restore I had done about 8 months ago. Which sucks cause right now my other hd not being listed ( that were I stored a lot of the main program files befoer it crashed) and it not allowing me to do an image restore correctly ( go figure) . I never had this problem with my vista Ult. I liked it enoug but the win 7 was a smaller foot print.on the harddrive. plus I not had any issues until today. ( which making it harder to do anythign since i not ate and got the shakes so bad I could make icing with out a mixer lol.. ( looks liek I got dt s or something I betting.

hmmmm sounds like my problem when i went to 7 from xp.... well that was the easy part but windows 7 started crashing when somehow my pci modem dissapeared..... im not sure..... hit youtube up, thats where i always found my answers.... lol

Yes, NEVER do a BIOS update unless it's required. Also, run a memory check and make sure the small OS partition is operating. Unless you upgraded, then you don't have the 100 meg OS partition.

If you had one and now it's gone, bad stuff will happen.

I'm having trouble deciphering what is going on. Did you just upgrade to 7 from Vista? Did you just flash your BIOS willy nilly?

If your BIOS was reset you may need to tell it what your primary drive is - that may be why it is not detecting your HDD.

And for future notice -- Back up your data before you do ANYTHING involving flashing your BIOS, major OS upgrades, etc.. you should have it backed up, regardless, due to the fact that hard drives fail without warning. If your operating system is hosed you may still be able to retrieve your files (using a liveCD or something) but afterwards you're going to need to reformat.

yeah sorry about my grammer, I think it one of the classes I was just pushed though to get me out of school. Yeah most teh tiem I don't update the bios but I was hopngi if I did I can get a 6 core cpu for the board. It doesnot help that I was doing all of this with out eating today and between the meds and my body if i don't eat I get the shares and everythign really bad. For a while we were afraid I may becoming diabitic.

I end up removing the partionson the 1tb drive and made a new one so i doing a clean install. which sucks if i can't regain access to the other harddrive since I was able to get most the data I think backed up onto it.

I finding out the image program for windows 7( pro) sucks big time. I never had aproblem with my copy of vista. I always made an image and them used it to restore the pc to a factory type set up. but sadly it not working this time. I will try again after I format the external drive,and figure out how to set up so it does when I want without unplugging it ( think that why it messes up . )

anyhow I going oto be in and out all night trying to get this thing back worknig right then will make a new image.

lol I build them so I am always tinkering. I think I just screwed up trying to do the flash for the bios, and I don't have a floppy drive in any of the pcs I built in the last 3 years. lol everyone got the flash drives.

I can see the hd in deivice manager andall but i could not access it . I end up having to get it asigned a new letter and such.but once i did it works just like normal.

I did end up doing a complete reload from scratch and just transplant the data I was able to save back.. lucky I was able to retain all my reptile files. (that was the main concern for me. I walso was able ot back up my WOW addon files/data so hopefully my mining gather data intack(won't get time to check until tomorow afternoon.)

If ithink ig i get time tomorrow i unhookc the cables and blow all of the dust out ofthe unit again ( something I do ever 4-6 months ).
