    HAHA!

    ...so this winter at one point I stuffed my 2008 black pastel male in a tank full of females while I cleaned his tank. And he spent the next half hour trying very hard to woo the 2008 piebald I plan to mate him with next year. It was actually quite charming! He'd rest his head on her, and she'd let him... and then he'd wiggle a few more inches of his body up against her and rest his head a little higher up on her.... and when he was done, he was perfectly lined up with her, nose to tail, tail to nose. And then he was confused.

    So now I know he likes her, and that she'll tolerate him. And also that he apparently could use the practice.
