candles
well ive always been a fan of having candles burning in the house, but ever since i got my ball pythons last year i havent burned any scented candles.
i was just wondering if there would be any ill effect of the snakes if i were to burn a candle in the vicinity of them? does anyone here burn candles in the their house around or near the snakes?

Re: candles
I am just going to state my opinion.
Unless the candle is very close to the snake, within a couple feet, I see no problem. It's probably not a great idea to do it constantly, but on occasion I don't see why it would be a problem.

Re: candles
i burn inscense in the room connected to my snake room fairly often. never noticed any ill effects, id think candles would be even safer, i cant ever even smell scented candles lol

Re: candles
I know a lot of people that constantly smoke around their snakes and it doesn't *APPEAR* to cause any harm, so I can't see an occasional use of candles or incense being much of an issue...

Re: candles
Yeah, but the constant smoking doesn't appear to cause any harm to those people, either.
Unless a snake is proven to die of lung cancer or something, I don't think either is going to be a big problem. If you can associate the use of candles or incense OR smoking with respiratory infections, then there might be a conclusive answer to these questions.
