1.) The dose of metronidizole for a ball python is 25 mg/kg any more and you will cause neurological symptoms that may kill your breeder or pet this dose is to be repeated in 14 days and does not do anything for nematode infection you will need panacure for that.

2.) The amount of liquid added to a powder will determine the concentration; metronidizole comes in pill form or is compounded into liquid usually to 5 mg/ml. You most likely have panacure which does come in powder form.

3.) Don’t give unprescribed medication to your self or your pet; people go to vet school for a reason (to help owners help their pets).

4.) If you can’t afford a vet you should think about if you really are doing rite by this animal that you made the commitment to care for.

I hate to sound rude but I work at a vet practice and people do this kind of thing all the time, sometimes its to late for the animal, you wouldn’t believe how many people give their dogs and cats Tylenol which will kill them.
This is why I asked this question. I did not say I couldn't afford to treat any of my animals if needed. Flagyl does come in powder form. I dont currently have any of these medications in my home. I made the commitment to educate myself on everything possible for my many reptiles. As for the dosage. It is my understanding that your dosage is what is required for colubrids due to sensitivity issues and the chance of neuroligical issues. All other info I have found states a dosage of 50-100 mg p kg. Bu don't worry. I will call my vet and have my record brought up to see the exact dosage which was given to one of my snakes 7 years ago. Then I will re-post.
