Rat pups and full grown mice are about the same size.

A 2 ft cali king could probably eat two full grown mice easy.

It depends on what you call a pup.

How many days old is the rat you're comparing to the adult mouse? Or how much does it weigh.

Half grown mice for a 2 foot calking would be no problem but some would not be able to handle 2 full grown adult mice, not the retired breeder kind of adult.

Using gram measurements of your food items would be a better way to measure the size of your snakes meals.

well if he thinks it too big then I would just go with that. ?? As far as the scale thing....you can get a scale at places like head shops or at reptilebasics.com Typically you can weigh and feed them 10-15% of their body weight. Personally I just go by the largest girth of the snake. Now with a corn snake....I have no idea what the rules are.

I bought a postal rate scale at Walmart for $25 that works good. I normally feed my guys food items that are no larger than the snake at its biggest spot.
